Horse to keep your eye on

Our resident tipster ‘The Stanimal’ offers some insight into who he thinks we should be watching..

Ancient Egypt, 2yo 1,100,00 Gns remains unbeaten for trainer Charlie Johnston for Amo Racing Ltd he beats another one to watch.

#Alfaraz a 300,000 Gns yearling trained by Andrew Balding, sire Nathaniel. I like both these colts Alfaraz owed by Saeed Sahail will start winning classics very soon with Andrew Balding the trainer and owner having won a group 1 with one of my horses to follow from last year “Never so Brave” who will also carry on improving next year.

One thing which I found ironic #Ancient Egypt‘s sire is Frankel, Alfaraz sire is Nathaniel and if you remember back to one of racing’s highlights Newmarket 13th August 2010, the one mile maiden on soft ground where two horses came together in a race that race fans will never forget because it was #Frankel‘s first race and the biggest battle of his career beating #Nathaniel by ½length, now roll on 25yrs and Frankel’s colt Ancient Egypt beat Alfaraz a Nathaniel colt by 1¼ lengths at Goodwood.

Frankel colt Ancient win at Goodwood beating Alfaraz

So what could we be looking at next year Charlie Johnston winning the 2,000 Gns at Newmarket to take his first classic well here’s hoping, and I’ll put my money down that Ancient Egypt for Amo Racing will win there first classic which would be great news given the efforts all concerned have put into it especially Charlie Johnston who slowly but surely is getting closer to the bigger trainers thanks to the better stock of horses he is training.

Going back to Saeed Sahail after his Group1 success on Saturday 24th, I think he could be looking at another on Saturday the 6th Sept with #More Thunder, trained by William Haggas is a horse I would like to see win, he’s about 8/1 for the Haydock Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes Goup 1 over 6furlongs but he has got a lot of entries in all the group 1&2’s so we wail, although the 8/1 looks good if you can get it run with it!

#Touleen is another 2yo filly I like trained by Owen Burrows who we know is a trainer with a BIG future and sire Lope de Vega out of Talaayeb a once raced mare at 2yo who won her only race after finishing 4th in the 2017, 1,000 Gns behind #Winter but that was after a layoff of 225days so I liked her then so I’m hoping Touleen can go on and show abilities that her dam showed in 2017. Watch out for this filly bred by #Shadwell Estates, foaled 16th Feb 2023 has promise.

Another Shadwell bred colt 3yo #Almeraq already second and a win for trainer #William Haggas this year and second with a second and a win at 2yo, there is better to come as a sprinter for him but maybe as a 4yo.

#Institute a Coolmore bred 2yo filly trained by AP O’Brien sire Frankel, dam #Acapulco. An interesting filly with some fine entries who I can’t wait to see. Something tells me there is something special about this one so I’m adding her onto my one’s to watch list and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was something of the highest order – You heard it here first!
