Lexus unveils it’s most powerful yacht yet with the LY680

Lexus has announced the new LY680 Luxury Yacht, an evolution of the previous LY650 which is a capable of reaching an impressive 2,700 horses on the high seas..

Based on the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept, the breathtaking 65 foot LY 650 embodies luxury and enables you to experience amazing beyond the road, at sea.

The concept for the yacht’s development was that it should ”feel like a hideout in the middle of the sea, providing a space where discerning customers can feel free and at ease”. The exterior reflects the Lexus L-finesse design philosophy, while the interior has been crafted down to the smallest details to provide a comfortable living space. In terms of performance, Lexus aims for confidence-inspiring cruising performance, with stable manoeuvrability, ride comfort, and quietness.

The LY 650 retains the beautiful curved lines of the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept, striking and distinctive from every angle. The dynamic hull, sleek coupe-like roofline and accentuated aft hips give the impression of a maritime vessel, built for high performance cruising.

The interior centers around a “comfortable living space,” and is equipped with three cabins on the lower deck and a light-filled salon, galley, and helm station on the main deck.

The flybridge has been extended by 1,400mm than that of its predecessor and features a spacious lounge sofa and a barbecue grill. The swimming platform has been extended by 700mm.

In terms of performance, the 680 will be powered by a pair of 12.8-liter turbocharged Volvo D13 engines capable of delivering 1,350 hp each to IPS drives.

Production has been carried out by the Horizon Group, which has a reputation for advanced technological capabilities, honed through superyacht construction. By combining the Horizon Group’s building capabilities with yacht production methods based on the Toyota Production System: TPS, the strengths of both brands have been leveraged.

Orders are being accepted exclusively in Japan through Toyota Marine sales offices and other selected dealerships.
