Rabanne stole the runway at Paris Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2025 season with its one-of-a-kind 1969 Nano Bag crafted in 18-karat gold..
After delving into Rabanne’s archives French artisan jeweler Arthus Bertrand alongside the brand pay homage to the “most expensive dress,” created by Paco Rabanne for French fashion icon Françoise Hardy in 1968, the dress which composed of 1,000 gold squares and 300 carats of diamonds was originally designed to promote a jewelry exhibition in Paris. Made of 18-karat gold and priced at €250,000 the 1969 Nano Bag revives Paco Rabanne’s legacy of using unconventional materials in fashion taking over 100 hours of meticulous work to create.
Two other memorable bags were also debuted on the runway, inspired by Rabanne’s heritage designs; A handcrafted 1969 Glass Bag featured Murano glass pastilles by the Venini glassmaking house from Venice to give off a brushstroke marbling effect, the other a Ceramic Bag constructed out of ceramic discs by Astier de Villatte.
