Orbis In Machina

Roger Dubuis Orbis in Machina, harmonizes tradition with modern engineering to embody the brand’s commitment to innovation. From the front, it tells a story of bold and modern engineering, while from the back, the art of tradition is revealed.

Symbolising the unique expressivity of Hyper Horology™, the front of this timepiece is adorned in concentric circles in contrasting pink gold and grey – each set at different heights for a multi-levelled décor that reveals the skeleton calibre beneath. The unconventional flying hands also required an ingenious new patent-pending system for setting the time. In contrast to the front of the watch, the sapphire crystal caseback is a window into tradition, where the excellence of Geneva fine watchmaking is on display. The elaborate artistry features sliced bridges and rounder lines, along with 19 specific hand-finishing techniques

For this fusion of movement and mechanical innovation, “Orbis” is a tribute to the revolving nature of the tourbillon and the circular lines of the watch’s display. “Machina” highlights the calibre itself, and specifically the rare yet brilliant central flying tourbillon. A name and concept that is sensationally brought to life through the design. Limited to 88 editions, the Orbis in Machina epitomizes Roger Dubuis’ blend of tradition and modernity.
